Matthew D. Miko

Matthew D. Miko is the principal consultant of The Civil Rights Advantage Consulting Group, providing in-depth analysis, practical advice, and the tools necessary to proactively address the entire spectrum of civil rights issues and effectuate positive change for individuals, communities, and organizations across the state. This includes services such as policy consulting, training, research and analysis, and technical assistance.
Prior to establishing the Civil Rights Advantage Consulting Group, Matthew served as Chief Legal Counsel and Director of Policy for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, where he acquired a wealth of experience in the areas of equal employment opportunity, fair housing law, investigative techniques, mediation, research & analysis, public relations, and education and outreach. He also served as an Assistant State Solicitor, and Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Section, for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
In addition to his consulting work, Matthew serves as an adjunct professor for Wright State University, teaching courses on the legal environment of business and the legal aspects of managing a diverse workforce, and for Wilberforce University, teaching courses in victimology and ethics in criminal justice administration. He also serves as a faculty member for the National Fair Housing Training Academy in Washington, D.C.
