story-linda-dobb.gifLinda S. Dobb, a technology-savvy, 30-year veteran of academic libraries and leadership roles, has been Cal State East Bay's University librarian since September of 2008 . Dobb had served, since 2000, as the executive vice president for Bowling Green State University, responsible for libraries, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of Equity and Diversity, the University's public television station and human resources. She was interim provost for Bowling Green from June 1999 to May 2000 and dean of University Libraries from 1995 to 1999.

 Prior to her tenure at Bowling Green, Dobb served as assistant director of the library and as chair of the Academic Computing Council at San Francisco State University from 1990 to 1995. She also has held positions at the City College of San Francisco, the federal Government Printing Office, the Library of Congress, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has taught library science for Kent State University, the University of California, Berkeley Extension Program and San Jose State University.

 Dobb earned a juris doctor degree from the UC Hastings College of the Law, a master of science from Simmons College in Boston and a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley.

 A frequent speaker and writer on issues such as library management, copyright, fundraising, and technology, she has delivered presentations to the American Library Association Annual Conference and other organizations nationwide and abroad.

 She has received grants from the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Defense, the Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education, the Ohio Board of Regents and from private foundations and individuals.

 Among Dobb's accomplishments at Bowling Green was establishment of the program in online learning, the MyBGSU Web portal and an electronic reading room. She also facilitated creating online access to the Hayes Presidential Center Library Collection and initiated the Student Technology Center.
