Dale Richardson

A native of Dayton, Ohio Dale Richardson is married and has two adult sons.

Mr. Richardson graduated from Wright State University with a B.A. in Sociology.

He has had a varied and diverse work history. He has worked in factories, served as editor and staff writer for a weekly newspaper – The Dayton Black Press. He was also editor and staff writer for Rap Magazine.

For eight years he was a member of WKEF, Channel 22 Television’s editorial board. His duties included researching, writing and presenting on-air editorial commentary. He was also co-host for the station’s live call-in show, “Talk Back”.

Mr. Richardson also co-hosted a live interview show on the local public television network, “Talk to the Editor”.

Mr. Richardson has worked for Montgomery County Children Services for 24 years. He has worked as a foster care and adoption caseworker. He currently works in the Foster Care and Adoption Recruitment and Training Unit.

In recognition of his work in foster care and adoption in 2002, he received an “Adoption Activist Award” from the North American Council Adoptable Children. In 2004 he received the “Spirit of Adoption Award” from Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley. 

He is a member of the Southwest Ohio Adoption Exchange, the Tri-State Adoption Exchange, the Dayton Area Minority Adoptive Parents and he currently serves as the chairperson of Montgomery County Children Services’ Diversity Awareness Committee.
