Patricia S. Meadows, MSSW

Pat Meadows is the Executive Director of the Dayton Region of the National Conference for Community and Justice, a human relations organization that fights bias, bigotry, racism and promotes understanding and respect through education, advocacy and conflict resolution. 

Pat recently returned to Dayton after 10 years at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC where she served as Director of Social Work for four years and as Associate Operating Officer for the remainder of her time there. Before leaving Dayton, Pat was the Director of Medical Social Services and Discharge Planning and SeniorCare for Miami Valley Hospital for 21 years.

Pat received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Psychology from West Virginia State College in Institute, West Virginia and her Masters in Social Welfare from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. Her many professional affiliations include membership in Ohio NASW, as well as North Carolina NASW. She was National President of the Society For Social Work Leadership in Health Care in 1990.

Her numerous awards include: Nominee, Duke University 2002 Diversity Award(For leadership and personal commitment to promoting elimination of bigotry and racism throughout Duke University), the Ida M. Cannon Award from the American Hospital Association Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care,1992, Pathfinder Award, YWCA of Dayton, 1987, Ohio and Dayton NASW Social Worker of the Year, 1985, Service to the Society, Community and to A Hospital Social Work Department from the Ohio Society for Hospital Social Workers, 1985 and Outstanding Woman of the Year from the Beta Chi Chapter, Iota Lambda Sorority.

Pat serves as Chair of the Education Committee, Tau Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and participates on numerous committees and task forces throughout the Dayton Area.

She is married and has three adult sons and two grandchildren.
