Myra R. Snipes

Myra R. Snipes is the City of Akron’s Training/EEO Officer in the Personnel Department. As the Training/EEO Officer she is responsible for the development and implementation of the City’s training, organizational development, and diversity initiatives. Additionally, Mrs. Snipes is responsible for providing internal investigations of discrimination filed by employees, and recommend appropriate accommodations and training, as a member of the City’s Complaint Team.

Noted for her organizational skills, Mrs. Snipes wears many hats in the community. She is actively involved in the following organizations: Youth Motivational Task Force, Mentor to students in elementary and high school, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a PC Instructor at Lawton Community Center. 

A native Akronite, Mrs. Snipes graduated from Buchtel High School. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Technical Education from The University of Akron.

Mrs. Snipes is married to Kirby Snipes and has two children, Portia and Nathan.
