SST Communications, Incorporated

SST Communications is a theatre company based in Chicago, Illinois, led by Jeffrey Mangrum. Since 1987, SST Communications has developed and performed innovative training programs, domestically and internationally, for government agencies, associations, corporations, colleges, universities and high schools.

Their unique blend of factual information with comedic and dramatic scenes spark the imagination and drive impersonal facts and statistics straight to the heart. Because they deal with such controversial topics as sexual harassment, cultural diversity and violence prevention, SST sometimes will have to use “adult” language. However, their intention is never to offend but simply to give an accurate portrayal.

The program SST will perform, “Moving It Forward: Inclusion in the Workplace,” will focus on workforce diversity showing how concepts such as assimilation, garbled communication, and collusion affect employee interactions. It includes, among other things, a four-point strategy on how to respectfully call attention to biased behavior and and a four-point strategy on how employees can learn to receive constructive criticism.

The program will feature six vignettes that focus on a variety of diversity issues that arise in the workplace. They include disability, racial stereotypes, sexual orientation, sexual harassment, and cultural inclusion.
