Sharon Howard

Sharon Howard serves as WDTN Channel 2's Executive Director of Community & Public Relations.  Included in her many duties, she is the host of "Dayton & Beyond," an award-winning weekly public affairs program.  Over the years, Sharon has had the pleasure of interviewing several celebrated national figures, including:  Johnnie Cochran, Chasitity Bon, Jerry Springer, Gloria Steinem and Kenny G.

Sharon also coordinates all station community projects, including COATS FOR KIDS and FOOD FOR FRIENDS.  She is also responsible of administering station community and public relations.

Sharon is affiliated with many civic and volunteer organizations.  Currently, she is a Board Member for Untied Way of Greater Dayton, the Dayton Urban League, Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School, the Montgomery County Arts & Cultural District and the Salvation Army.  Her service to the community has garnered her several awards including:  WPAFB Community Service Award, the National Urban League's Central Region "Volunteer of the Year Award" in 1998, Mercy Manor Community Service recognition and a Community Service Award from the March of Dimes.

A Dayton native, Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Television Communication from the University of Dayton.  Throughout her career, she has received professional recognition for her journalistic work from the International Communications Training Institute, "Regional Communicator of the Year Award," two National Communicator Awards and two National Telly Awards.

Sharon is married and has a son.
