Catherine Queener

Catherine Queener is an Academic Advisor for Adult and Transfer Services at Wright State University.  She has served as Learning Communities Coordinator and Assistant Director for Testing in University College, and she has been advising and teaching University College students for 14 years.  As Learning Communities Coordinator, Catherine Queener was instrumental in transforming the curriculum of First Year Seminar to address learning objectives identified by WSU faculty and strengthening connections between learning community seminars and general education classes. 

One of Catherine Queener’s particular interests is how First Year Seminar instructors face the challenge of helping recent high school graduates recognize, acknowledge, confront, and appreciate diversity.  She presented Talking About Race with First Year Students at the Quest for Community Conference at Wright State University on May 9, 2003.  

Catherine Queener’s M.S. in Education is from the University of Dayton, and her B.S. in Education is from Wright State University.  She received the Dean’s Award for Performance Excellence, 2001-2002 and the Learning Communities Award for Service, 2000-2001.
