Asian American Council, Dayton, Ohio
Membership (Application Form)

All members of the Asian American communities of the Greater Dayton area, and all others who are interested in the Asian American communitoties, are invited to become members of the AAC-Dayton.

The missions of the Asian American Council, Dayton, Ohio (AAC-Dayton) are:

  1. to protect and advance the civil rights of Asian Americans and all others
  2. to encourage full participation in the democratic processes of the community, and
  3. to promote awareness and appreciation of the diversity of Asian American cultures and their role in American society.

It would be worthwhile to note about the timing of the Annual Election of Individual Members to the AAC-Dayton Executive Committee. In order to be eligible for election to the Executive Committee this coming year, a person must be an Individual Member by 60 days before the election. The Election Committee members will be appointed in early January and the Committee will decide precise dates regarding the election process specified by our Constitution and Bylaws.

The AAC Executive Committee has two types of members: each Sponsoring Organization that supports AAC-Dayton appoints one Organizational Member, and several Individual Members are elected in the spring. A member of a Sponsoring Organization may also join AAC-Dayton as an Individual Member. The annual membership fee is $20 for an Individual Member; while $200 for a Sponsoring Organization.

AAC-Dayton's annual activities will include the Asian Cultural Festival, overseeing the Asian American Youth Council of Dayton AAYCD), the Annual Dinner, Dayton projects for OAAHC’s HTA Initiatives to eliminate disparities in health care, plus other important projects (all AAC-Dayton members are encouraged to propose any worthwhile projects.)
