Health Related Priorities of AAC in 2010

  1. Dayton International Festival health screening in May 2010,

  2. Asian Cultural Festival Health Fair in August 2010,

  3. Collaboration with Dayton Council on Health Equity and OAAHC in collection of health status data for Asian American community\ies in the Greater Dayton area,

  4. Providing support and leadership to the Asian American Youth Council of Dayton (AAYCD) group.

 

New Option - Medicare and You Handbook

New in 2009 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service is happy to bring to Medicare beneficiaries an electronic option to getting their Medicare and You handbooks each year.

In an effort to go green and save tax payer dollars starting this fall all Medicare beneficiaries that sign up on http://www.mymedicare.gov/by May 31, 2009 will get their Medicare and You books electronically.Those that miss the cut off date can still sign up but will get their books electronically starting fall of 2010.

Health Seminars on April 11 and 18, 2009

The target population for the health seminar is lay people, to help them understand their risks for heart disease and diabetes.
The seminars are free and open to everyone.
Participants will receive a pedometer and be entered into raffle drawings.

and spend numerous hours volunteering their time and services.
