14th Annual State of the State Conference
Thursday & Friday, March 25-26, 2010 
 


Proposals for the 2010 State of the State Annual Conference, to be held in Toledo, Ohio are now being accepted.  The theme, “Creating an Inclusive Environment for Many Voices” focuses on important issues, initiatives, and new perspectives that will heighten awareness for managing the many voices of diversity and help build tomorrow’s Ohio.

 The first consideration date for submissions is September 14, 2009. 

 The program for this premier diversity conference is focused on diversity issues and topics related to:

  • Equity
  • Opportunity
  • Awareness

1.  Who Should Submit a Proposal: We are calling for all education, social work, social service agencies, state and local government, judiciary, health care, business and industry practitioners, to submit proposals sharing experiences and best practices through thought-provoking presentations, interactive demonstrations, and engaging conversations. Presenters MUST register for the conference.  The registration fee, however, will be waived if your proposal is accepted.

2.   Length of Presentation:  Concurrent sessions 1 hour and 15 minutes. Presenters are encouraged to leave ample time for questions and answers.

3.   Audience:  Conference participants include entry to senior level professionals from across the spectrum of organizations and institutions.  Presentations should have a wide appeal.

4.   Presentation Scope:  Creativity and innovation are valued as part of the presenter’s format and style.  The presentation focus should be clearly identified as corporate, social agency, and/or higher education.

 5.  Evaluation of Proposals:  Proposals most likely to be accepted for inclusion will:

a)      Supplement and enhance the conference theme.

b)      Confirm the commitment and contact information of all speakers listed in your proposal.

c)      Be complete (Typed and limited to 300 words; include the following sections: Title, Objectives/Outcomes, and Equipment Needs).

6.  Presentation Policy:  Presenters are responsible for providing all handouts.

8.   Proposal Submission:  Access and submit the electronic proposal form, using the Online Submission button above.  Notification of acceptance will begin October 1, 2009.
